This three-part training series will familiarize students with the basic concepts of ultrasonics and the applications of ultrasonic detection and measurement. Ultrasound detection can identify potential problems by measuring the inaudible sounds produced by defective or worn mechanical and electrical components. The series outlines the important principles of ultrasound detection, the use of ultrasonics in leak detection, and the use of ultrasonics in mechanical and electrical testing.

The Ultrasonics series is designed for maintenance technicians or anyone involved in a Condition-Based Maintenance or Reliability-Centered Maintenance program. All the terms used are defined or explained throughout the course, so students are not required to have a technical vocabulary to understand the content.
